Meet madeleine

Madeleine Frank Reeves is a writer, recovering magazine editor, luxury fashion brand founder, and Harvard graduate. The former deputy editor of Cosmopolitan, she’s spent the past thirteen years building a career at the center of women’s media, celebrity culture, sex and relationships coverage, fashion, and events, with a particular gift for knowing what audiences want before they even know how to ask for it. Forbes recently profiled her in a standalone interview and feature about her pivot from legacy media to building her own empire

She’s known for her sharp editorial sensibilities and culture-shaping coverage. Madeleine has become known inside the industry as the editor and interviewer to call when a celebrity profile needs to be both viral and substantive: sharp enough to travel online, intimate enough to reveal something real, and striking enough to create a cultural moment. Her work has helped define turning points in the careers of some of the most talked-about women in entertainment, whether it’s Alix Earle’s only cover interview for the launch of her beauty brand, Lindsay Lohan’s first comeback cover, the cover that catapulted Sabrina Carpenter into superstardom alongside Espresso, or Sarah Pidgeon’s cover tied to her recent breakout role. And she also reports on the unspoken rules of modern life and internet culture, putting language to the things everyone is thinking but no one has quite said yet, like her recent viral Bustle story “I Know You Muted Me on Instagram.”

Madeleine has made a career of being highly skilled at knowing what will resonate with the culture and when, with surgical precision. As deputy editor at the largest women’s media brand in the world, she shaped and directed content that reached an audience of 60 million young women across platforms. She shepherded Cosmopolitan’s brand voice and ethos across the print magazine, website, social channels, and brand extensions and collaborations.

In this role she oversaw more than 40 cover stories and dozens more profiles across both Cosmopolitan and Seventeen magazines, as well as helming the entire celebrity and entertainment and sex and relationships verticals. Over several years she reshaped the sex and relationships vertical to expand coverage of LGBTQ+ stories, nontraditional relationships, and to excel in service-forward expert-driven content as well as juicy tell-alls. Under her leadership, packages including Sex After 60 and AI and Dating were nominated for and won awards. She regularly represented the brand in media appearances, including live television, podcasts, and panels.

Towards the end of her time at Cosmopolitan and Seventeen, Madeleine launched a full-blown events strategy and membership program, as well as exclusive merch and clever collaborations. She conceived of, sold, and executed the brand’s first ever major marquee event, the Love Ball, which was a star-studded affair at the iconic Boom Boom Room featuring a live musical performance from JT. It garnered substantial media coverage. She worked with brand partners and advertisers like Versace to host other celeb-filled events and dinners.

In May of 2026, Madeleine launched meltie, a category-creating luxury accessory line of insulated products designed to keep all of your essentials cool. (Essentials being anything from your cell phone to beauty products and medications or, importantly, mushroom chocolate.) The line debuted to immediate national media coverage with an exclusive announcement and profile on her in NYLON, where it was dubbed “the summer accessory you didn’t know you needed,”  and has already been featured in publications like The Cut. Drawing on her many years of experience as an editor and her deep understanding of what actually breaks through the noise, Madeleine built meltie to be an entire world, not just a product, and there are big things ahead for the brand in terms of high-profile collaborations, events, and more.

Madeleine also runs a boutique media strategy consulting practice, helping a few select clients refine their narratives, build thoughtful press strategies, and break through with stories that actually move the needle. Find out more or book an intro session here.
